Well, I have resisted blogging for a long time now. But I guess that was not long enough!!
Although I tried, but my brain rejects to go past my fourth grade in search of good memories. I remember it as if it happened yesterday.
"Whoa!!!", I thought, "100 bucks". It was 8th April and it was my birthday. My dad had presented me with this new, greenish-bluish, great smelling note of 100 bucks. We had just shifted into a new neighbourhood, all the luggages and other things were scattered through the whole house and it was the first double bedroom house we were living in! As my luck would have it, there was a curfew at our place the day we shifted to the new house; and it was my birthday. I was the most happiest and the most depressed in our family that day. Happy, obviously because of 100 rupees and sad since I couldn't spend it for the next 5 days!
The next day, when I was standing in the front balcony, I saw a person running towards our house. He looked 8, may be 9, and he was darting towards my new home. As he neared I recognised his face; he was one of my classmates. "How the hell did he know about my new house? Am I that popular that people now stalk me?", were my first thoughts. Then I was enlightened that he owned a house right down the lane, and I was back to reality! Now this day marked the beginning of a "BOND"ing which lasted 14 years and is still ticking!!! He made me meet his neighbour (who was also 8-9 years old), who had a TOP* in his hand and obviously not pleased to meet me. I came to know the reason only 2 years ago!
And yeah, I forgot to mention... This happened in April 1992 (The year mentioned to stress the fact that 100 bucks really had great value in that period)!!!
